Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
PremierOne & PremierOne Plus Floor Coating Systems
What type of coating systems do you use? Most companies just use Epoxy, don’t they?
PremierOne Floor Coating systems are a revolutionary new hybrid polymer chemistry manufactured exclusively for PremierGarage. PremierOne systems are superior to Epoxy from the standpoint of installation time and return to service, UV resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, long-term durability, maintenance and shine.
My house is brand new. How will you prepare the floor before coating it?
New or old, we start by grinding any areas of concrete or stucco spillage, then oil and grease stains are treated and degreased. We then prepare the concrete to be coated by either grinding, acid etching or shotblasting the surface.
I have some small cracks in my floor. What will be done with these?
All open cracks, including those in your expansion or “tool” joints, if applicable, will be repaired. Additionally, larger surface imperfections will also be repaired. Extensive crack and/or patch repairs may be subject to additional charges.
How long does the entire process take, and when can I put my car back in the garage?
The PremierOne Floor Coating system can be installed in just one day. You may park in your garage and have full use of it just 24 hours later. Weather conditions (i.e., low temperatures, high humidity) may extend the installation and return to service times.
My garage is full of stuff. What do we do with it while the floor is being coated?
It is the homeowners’ responsibility to remove all possessions from the garage. Typically we recommend that your items be stored as much as possible inside the home, however in most cases the best location becomes a covered patio or side yard. There are many temporary storage solutions available regionally today. Consult your local operator for their best solutions in your area.
I’ve heard polyurethane is flammable? And what about the smell?
PremierOne Floor Coating systems Hybrid Polymer chemistry utilizes zero VOC technology and is free of solvents. They are non-flammable and non-hazardous to people, pets and the environment.
What is the best method to clean my new floor?
We recommend mixing 5 – 6 ounces of CLEAR ammonia per gallon of water in a mop bucket. A large headed string / rag mop works best, with a wringer mechanism on your mop bucket. For PremierOne Plus Fine Chip systems, we recommend hosing the floor with a standard garden hose with spray nozzle attachment, then utilizing a foam squeegee (available from PremierGarage) to remove the excess water from the floor. Special Note: We highly recommend against the use of any soap based product, as these leave a film which not only reduces the shine in the floor, but can also become extremely slippery when the floor gets damp or wet.
How long will my floor last?
PremierOne and PremierOne Plus Floor Coating systems, with their revolutionary Hybrid Polymer technology, have a life expectancy of 10 years plus under normal care and use.
What is the Warranty?
All of our floor coating systems are backed by our limited warranty against delamination, staining, or defects in materials and/or workmanship. Consult your local operator for specific details.
Garage Cabinetry
1) What are PremierGarage Cabinets made of?
All of our cabinets are made from a high-grade Industrial Particleboard, not to be confused with the particleboard commonly seen at your local Home Improvement Center. This board uses a higher density of chip material and glue resins to achieve a stronger, more consistently solid board. All of our material is finished on both sides in Thermo-Fused Melamine, also known in the industry as a low-pressure Laminate. This material will not delaminate, peel, bubble or discolor, and cleaning is simple with a soft cloth and most any popular all-surface cleaner. Our all-adjustable shelving, as well as the top and bottom decks of our cabinets are made from 1" thick, 2 sided Thermo-Fused Melamine, an exclusive standard feature from PremierGarage.
2) Why do you mount all of your cabinets off the ground? Don’t you need additional support?
There are two main reasons why we do this. The first involves pest infiltration. Traditional garage cabinetry is built on top of a pedestal, or a "toe kick" that becomes a perfect nesting place for all sorts of pests and bugs seeking refuge in a cool, dark place. These pests eventually find their way into your home. Secondly, mounting the cabinets off the ground eliminates the potential for water damage. You may have seen other companies put legs underneath of their cabinets for support, however this creates an open space under the cabinet that will require occasional cleaning, made very difficult by the presence of these support legs every three feet or so.
3) How are your cabinets put together? In my last house, they were all stapled together and falling apart.
Ah, rest assured that at Premier, no wood will be subject to abuse from staples, as we never use a single one! We build REAL cabinets, not a stapled together enclosure fabricated from flat boards in your driveway, stapled to your walls piece by piece. All of our cabinets are built on a European 32MM system, typical of fine cabinetry and woodworking. We use full backs locked into a "Dado" groove, which the back is interlocked into throughout the entire inner perimeter of the cabinet. Behind this back is a horizontal nailer system that is attached to each side panel with glued wood dowels. All interior side panels are system drilled (for shelf adjustment) with precision accuracy with a highly sophisticated, computer controlled Point-to-Point Router, and then are assembled to the one-inch thick top and bottom decks with steel "Confirmat" screws, to insure long-lasting strength and durability. Due to this unique construction method, our cabinets can be mounted off the ground, without the need for additional ground support.
4) Sounds pretty nice. How long do they take to install?
Since all of the fabrication and assembly took place in the controlled confines of your operators’ assembly facility, our Installers will arrive at your location with assembled cabinetry, ready to install. Using 4" long, hardened steel installation screws, we will mount each cabinet directly to your studs, install shelving, hang doors, mount handles, and, of course, clean everything up when complete so the only reason you know we were there is by all your neighbors gawking at your incredible cabinetry, wanting to know where you got it from! While most installations are completed the same day, many take less than half a day, depending on size and complexity, of course.
5) So, will I have to refinance my house to afford this quality system?
We sell a premium, high-grade product at a fair price considering the materials, workmanship and attention to detail that goes into each system we install. Our systems are sold by the cabinet box, or module. Each piece is priced separately, so you can design your own system and tailor it to fit both your needs and budget. Our systems are also easily expandable, so you can add onto your system as your budget allows. As every clients garage and requirements vary, we suggest you click on the link below to schedule a designer to meet you at your home to create a system just right for you.
6) After I have them, how about your warranty?
We are so sure of the quality of our cabinetry, we stand behind them with a "no questions asked" warranty policy. Obvious signs of damage, abuse or neglect will not be considered as a warrantable condition.
