Shelving: The industry standard 3/4" cabinet top, bottom and shelves are prone to sagging. Shelf stiffeners add only marginal strength.

Hardware: Plastic or thin aluminum hardware is more likely to wear or break than steel components.

Design: Kick plates and support legs for garage cabinets create hiding places for insects and other uninvited guests. They are unsightly and make it difficult to sweep under the cabinets. Cabinets not strong enough to be suspended above the floor without support should be suspect.
